Newly rebranded fintech business strengthens its commitment to women’s advancement and inclusive growth in South Africa’s mining sector
As South Africa’s mining sector continues to prioritise diversity, inclusion and sustainable transformation, Lesaka Payouts reinforced its commitment to meaningful industry engagement through its sponsorship of a hole at the 2026 Women in Mining South Africa (WiMSA) Golf Day, held at Randburg Golf Club on 15 May.
The event marked an important visibility and relationship-building opportunity for the newly rebranded business, formerly known as adumo Payouts, following its recent integration into the broader Lesaka fintech ecosystem.
Established in 2010, WiMSA is an independent, volunteer-run non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the personal growth, leadership development and career progression of women in the South African mining industry.
Through sponsorships and industry partnerships, the organisation has built a network of over 4 000 professionals across the sector, with initiatives focused on mentorship, STEM awareness, leadership development, networking and gender-based violence awareness.
Flagship fundraising and stakeholder engagement event
The annual WiMSA Golf Day has become one of the organisation’s flagship fundraising and stakeholder engagement events, bringing together sponsors, mining professionals and corporate leaders to support women-focused initiatives within the industry.
For Lesaka Payouts, the WiMSA event aligns to the businesses’ focus on support for empowerment, inclusion and financial wellbeing in the workplace “Supporting initiatives such as the WiMSA Golf Day is important to us because it reflects the kind of impact-driven partnerships we want to build,” says Amelia Williams, Head of Lesaka Payouts.
“As a newly rebranded business within the Lesaka Group, we are focused not only on expanding our visibility in the market, but also on aligning ourselves with organisations that are actively driving transformation, inclusion and opportunity within key sectors of the South African economy.”
The sponsorship also formed part of the company’s broader market positioning following the recent transition. The rebrand reflects the full integration of the business into the Lesaka Group’s connected fintech platform, strengthening its ability to deliver scalable payout and payment solutions while expanding its reach across Southern Africa.
Supporting innovation, financial inclusion and embedded finance solutions
Operating within the wider Lesaka ecosystem, which serves more than 1.7 million customers and over 120 000 merchants across the region, Lesaka Payouts is positioned to support innovation, financial inclusion and embedded finance solutions across consumer, merchant and enterprise markets.
Williams says the WiMSA partnership demonstrates how strategic sponsorships can create both reputational value and meaningful engagement opportunities. “The mining sector remains a critical pillar of the South African economy, and organisations such as WiMSA play an essential role in creating more inclusive pathways for women across the industry,” she adds. “Events like the Golf Day create opportunities for collaboration and relationship-building while supporting initiatives that have a tangible social impact.”
The event also provided an opportunity for Lesaka Payouts to strengthen stakeholder relationships ahead of further anticipated engagement with WiMSA during the organisation’s upcoming symposium in July 2026.
“While our name has changed, our commitment to our clients, partners and communities remains the same,” concludes Williams. “As Lesaka Payouts, we are excited to continue building partnerships that support both business growth and positive social outcomes across Southern Africa.”
