DISA Equipment is soon to launch the new Develon DB100AS-2KM backhoe loader in Southern Africa. These machines have been developed for high efficiency in many sectors, including construction, municipalities, agriculture and infrastructure.
The new DB100 series forms part of the wide range of robust Develon earthmoving equipment, which is designed to give operators maximum performance, precision control, versatile machine preferences, greater comfort and long service life.
DISA Equipment specialists believe that the new Develon TLB will meet the requirements of equipment owners looking for a balance between loader productivity, excavation precision and transport speed in a single machine.
The DB100 series is engineered to deliver higher breakout force, increased traction and extended reach in both loader and backhoe functions. The Kirloskar mechanical engine EU Stage II (96 HP) ensures high power, reliability and efficiency in tough operating conditions.
The hydraulic system is engineered for smooth, responsive performance in both loader and backhoe functions, delivering strong breakout force and precise control in a wide range of operating conditions.
Four-wheel drive is standard across the range, with planetary front and rear gears designed for heavy-duty operation. Wet disc service and parking brakes are oil-immersed to minimise contamination and extend service life.
Forward travel speeds reach up to 40 km/h, enabling safe and efficient road movement between sites. Manual synchro shift transmission is standard on DB100AS-2KM machines.
Backhoe working depth reaches up to 4,770 mm in standard side-shift configurations and up to 5,830 mm with the optional telescopic dipper. Maximum digging height is 5,980 mm in standard form and 6,890 mm with telescopic extension. Loader dump height is rated at 2,960 mm, with hinge pin height at 3,610 mm. Payload capacity is specified at 2,000 kgf.
The operator-friendly cabin has been designed for visibility and easy control. A one-piece curved front windscreen and large side glazing provide a clear view, while the sloped bonnet improves visibility to the loader cutting edge. The ROPS/FOPS-certified cab incorporates an adjustable steering column, suspension seat and ergonomically positioned controls. The parking brake can be easily activated from within the cab via an electric switch. Optional climate control provides heating, defrosting and air conditioning via multiple air vents positioned throughout the cabin. A high-strength, rigid loader frame ensures durability and greater lifting capacity.
Operation is enhanced through the optional Smooth Ride Control system, which reduces loader bounce when travelling over uneven terrain. Adjustable Flow Control optimises travel power during highway travel, while pilot controls and telescopic dipper options increase precision and versatility in excavation tasks.
These new TLBs ensure high efficiency in heavy-duty applications. The boom allows clear visibility into the trench when the operator is digging around buried obstructions, like utility lines, sewer pipes and water mains. Another important feature is the integrated safety bar and locking pin which form part of the bucket cylinder for enhanced operator safety.
For effortless service and maintenance, a tilt-up hood provides unobstructed access to the engine compartment. Greasing points are easily accessible from ground level and a visible hydraulic oil sight gauge allows quick inspection. A single-layer radiator cooling system simplifies cleaning.
A wide range of specially designed attachments ensures versatility for use in diverse applications. Loader options include general purpose and multi-purpose buckets, fork variants with load capacities up to 1,200 kg, log forks, sugarcane grabbers, biomass buckets and a 600-litre concrete mixer. Backhoe attachments comprise trench and light-duty buckets, as well as a hydraulic rock breaker rated for oil flows between 60 and 90 litres per minute.
The launch of the Develon DB100 series meets the demand locally for a durable, high-capacity backhoe loader, that can handle many different tasks in tough conditions. These dependable machines offer greater digging depth, breakout force and travel efficiency, without unnecessary electronic complexity. On-site testing in arduous environments highlights the stability of the four-wheel steer configuration and the improved material retention provided by Smooth Ride Control during site travel. Service accessibility at ground level is an important design feature of these machines.
In addition to backhoe loaders, DISA Equipment’s Develon range includes excavators, articulated dump trucks and wheel loaders. The company also supplies and supports a range of Everdigm attachments, including hydraulic breakers suitable for excavators from 5 ton to 100 ton.
The team’s advisory service on correct equipment selection is enhanced by a broad branch and dealer network offering technical support, easy access to quality branded spare parts, reliable repair and maintenance, as well as Develon Operator Machine Orientation Services.
